If you are considering an iPad I strongly recommend an external keyboard. I appropriated the blue tooth keyboard that came with our iMac and that in combination with a lap desk makes for a comfy drafting space while on the couch or in the truck while my husband drives us to the lake. I imagine that eventually I’ll download Pages Apple’s Word processing app, but, the bank account can only take so many hits at once. I’ve settled on Chronicle for the moment to draft blog entries and story islands. It seems my wishes will come true in future releases. I fired off a quick email to Mariner software and was pleased to receive a reply addressing my concerns promptly.
The iPad version also lacks a full screen drafting mode, one of my favorite features on the desktop version. I was disappointed that MacJournal did not support a font large enough for me to sit a comfortable distance from the iPad. I immediately downloaded the app version of MacJournal, my goto desktop application for drafting. The SmartCover is pretty handy too.Īs I have mentioned it previous entries, I have vision issues, and I require larger print. As promised, the iPad 2 is lighter and faster than the original. In my opinion Apple got it right this time.
